Khadi is natural-fibre cloth that's spun and woven by hand. It's usually cotton, sometimes silk or wool. Gandhi promoted it during the Swadeshi movement, and it's a symbol of self-reliance and support for artisans. The texture is slightly coarse and uneven because it's handmade. It stays cool in summer and warm in winter.
